On August 20, IT leaders, cybersecurity experts, and lawyers gathered at GNRTR Coworking in Kyiv to discuss data security in business. Throughout the day, participants of the IT Meets session “Cybersecurity: How Businesses Can Protect Themselves from Threats” shared experiences, engaged in discussions, and proposed practical solutions to help companies remain resilient in an era of digital risks.

The stage discussions addressed key questions: who is truly responsible for security in companies in 2025, why formal certification does not guarantee protection, and how to communicate properly with clients in case of a cyber incident. The talks also touched upon ISO/IEC 27001 standards, KYC/KYS checks of contractors, and new requirements from international partners.

Among the speakers were leaders of well-known Ukrainian companies: Vitalii Yakushev and Oleksandr Smychnikov (10Guards), Artem Skrypnyk (FAVBET Tech), Ruslana Okruh (Raiffeisen Bank), Oleksii Yasinskyi (BAKOTECH), Oleh Polihenko (Nova Digital, CISO Club Ukraine), Rostyslav Kondryk and Yehor Aushev (Cyber Unit Technologies), Oleksandr Yefremov (Kitsoft), Roman Solohub (ISSP), Andrii Mokych (DigVel), Yuliia Petryk (Calibrated), Adriian Pavlykevych (SoftServe), and Serhii Khariuk (AmonSul).

One of the most engaging discussions featured FAVBET Tech CEO Artem Skrypnyk. The debate centered on who in 2025 is truly accountable for cybersecurity in the IT industry. He highlighted the differences between information security and IT security, outlined the challenges of preserving data and client trust, and stressed the importance of choosing an effective risk management model that covers all company processes.

Another lively panel focused on crisis communications. Speakers shared real-life cases where the right messaging preserved reputations while poor communication destroyed trust. The conversation addressed who should speak on behalf of the company, how quickly to respond, and which mistakes to avoid.

Despite the complexity of the topic, the conference was held in an open and collaborative atmosphere, creating a foundation for practical dialogue. Participants left with a clear understanding that cybersecurity is no longer the responsibility of isolated technical departments. It is a shared responsibility of businesses, communications teams, and leadership. This is how an environment of trust with clients and partners is built, even in times of unpredictable threats.

“Cybersecurity is a Shared Responsibility”: IT Meets in Kyiv Discussed How Businesses Can Protect Their Data and Reputation

In the first half of 2025, the company hired the largest number of technical specialists among the ranking participants.

FAVBET Tech made it into the [DOU Top 50 IT Companies in Ukraine](https://dou.ua/lenta/articles/top-50-summer-2025/) ranking for the first time and became one of four new entrants to the list, together with UPSTARS, Kyivstar.Tech, and mono. The ranking includes specialists working in Ukraine as well as those who relocated but continue paying taxes in Ukraine.

As of the first half of 2025, 79.1 thousand professionals were employed in the Ukrainian Top 50 companies. Compared to the previous half-year, this number remained almost unchanged, marking the first signs of market stability since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Growth leaders were mostly product companies, including [FAVBET Tech](https://www.facebook.com/favbettech/). In the first half of 2025, 133 technical specialists joined the company — the largest number among all participants of the summer ranking.

Overall, during the past six months, the FAVBET Tech team in Ukraine has only been growing. The company is currently focusing on development (PHP, Node.js, Java), strengthening business analytics, infrastructure, and AI directions.

The technology company FAVBET Tech has become a partner of [IT Arena 2025](https://itarena.ua/ua/), which will take place on September 26–28 at the "Arena Lviv" stadium. This year, IT Arena expects over 6,000 participants from 30 countries and will operate on five stages — Business, Technology, Product, Startup, and, for the first time, Defense, dedicated to military technologies. The program includes a Startup Competition with a prize pool of $60,000, a Made in Ukraine Showcase for B2B solutions, and about 50 meetups on the final day. Among the announced speakers are Mykhailo Fedorov, Terrell J. Starr, Sasha Misho, Jonathan Levin, and others.

Today’s market is full of paradoxes. On paper, there seem to be plenty of specialists, yet finding the right talent remains difficult. Senior professionals are switching jobs less frequently, prioritizing stability — especially those who’ve managed to keep their peak-level compensation from 2020–2021. Meanwhile, companies are aggressively looking for talent who can drive sales. Demand for sales and marketing roles has risen to about 20% of all openings, while the need for artificial intelligence specialists is also climbing.

According to Rudenko, one of the fastest entry points into the industry is customer support, where communication skills and basic English are more important than technical expertise. From there, career growth becomes much more accessible.

At the same time, opposite trends are at play. Senior employees most often leave due to conflicts with management, while companies are willing to invest heavily to secure candidates with the right skill set. Both outsourcing and product companies are hiring, though outsourcing firms are doing so at a much smaller scale than a few years ago. Interestingly, job seekers are lowering salary expectations if their search drags on too long.

Junior candidates, however, are rarely hired. Applications for entry-level roles are also dropping, as many newcomers abandon the job hunt after repeated failures. Still, the market is showing signs of recovery, with new opportunities emerging in Defence Tech, R&D, and industries far removed from the traditional tech sector.

In July, the Kooperativ venue in Kyiv hosted the discussion panel “AI Without the Gloss,” organized by the [Wtech](https://www.linkedin.com/company/wtechclub/) community. The event brought together top managers of leading Ukrainian IT companies to openly talk about their real experiences implementing artificial intelligence. The event was supported by [FAVBET Tech](https://www.linkedin.com/company/favbet-tech/?originalSubdomain=ua), and one of the speakers was its CEO, Artem Skrypnyk.

In his speech, Skrypnyk emphasized a thoughtful approach to integrating AI into the company’s internal processes and products. According to him, artificial intelligence at FAVBET Tech is primarily a tool to empower teams rather than replace people.

*“Unlike Western businesses that openly reduce staff due to AI, FAVBET Tech has a different goal — to increase team efficiency and deepen expertise in areas where there used to be a lack of hands. We don’t lay people off because of automation, we learn to do more,”* the CEO said.

He noted that today FAVBET Tech is actively using AI in analytics, cybersecurity, user experience personalization, and marketing. The company is also developing its own AI models, which are already showing higher accuracy than external solutions.

FAVBET Tech currently employs many analysts and has a small team of mathematicians who develop proprietary AI models to support data specialists. As Skrypnyk explained, this approach provides the team with better analytics than third-party providers' models.

Special attention was given to the experience of developers. AI assistants like Cursor are used at FAVBET Tech as helpers for experienced engineers, but the company does not rely on them for critical tasks. Junior specialists undergo additional code reviews to prevent blindly copying neural network outputs.

The discussion was moderated by the CEO of managerka.ua, who emphasized that the purpose of such gatherings is to honestly discuss the challenges companies face when implementing AI: *“When we talk about artificial intelligence, it is important not only to hear success stories, but also to understand what lies behind them. This is exactly what turns AI from a trendy tool into something truly useful in the long term.”*

As Krasovskyi shared, Sigma Software began in 2002 as a small team of enthusiasts. Today, the company unites over 2,000 specialists across more than 20 countries. According to the CEO, the key drivers of the company’s growth have been process decentralization, trust, and a culture of mutual support.

His keynote focused on the potential of international markets. Krasovskyi highlighted the U.S. as the most dynamic, citing its decision-making speed and openness to innovation. He also pointed to the Middle East, where efforts are underway to build a thriving tech environment.

Krasovskyi emphasized a unique trait of Ukraine’s IT sector: critical thinking. Local specialists aren’t afraid to challenge ideas, propose alternatives, or take responsibility — a trait that, while not always convenient, often helps avoid costly mistakes.

The discussion also covered SID Venture Partners — a venture fund co-founded with Sigma Software. Over the past three years, the fund has backed more than 30 Ukrainian startups, including Liki24.

Another topic was Defence Builder — Ukraine’s first private defense tech accelerator, developed in partnership with KSE, Buntar Aerospace, and the Ministry of Defense. For the first time, private investors have gained access to syndicated investments in defense startups with an entry point as low as $1,000.

As is tradition, CEO Talks concluded with a reflection on values. For Sigma Software, those are humanity and responsibility. The company organized the evacuation of over 3,500 people in the first weeks of Russia’s full-scale invasion — including employees of other IT companies.

FAVBET Tech Supports New CEO Talks Event on Navigating IT Business During Times of Turbulence

In the first half of 2025, the FAVBET Group paid **UAH 4.37 billion** in taxes to Ukraine’s state budget, marking a significant increase from the UAH 3.08 billion contributed during the same period in 2024. This more than 40% year-over-year growth underscores the company's steadily increasing fiscal contribution to the national economy.

For the full year of 2024, FAVBET’s total tax payments amounted to **UAH 6.75 billion**.

*“We are seeing how the gambling industry is evolving — responsible gaming standards are improving, marketing strategies are becoming more sophisticated, and there is active communication with international companies,”* reads the company’s statement. *“Timely, full, and unconditional payment of taxes is a fundamental and non-negotiable principle of our business operations.”*

Despite this progress, the company also noted a broader market trend of declining deposit volumes, signaling overall contraction within the gambling sector.

FAVBET Group emphasizes that it operates transparently and in full compliance with Ukrainian legislation, and is prepared to cooperate fully with regulatory authorities upon request.

*“All of our tax obligations are fulfilled on time and in full, as confirmed by official records and reports from tax authorities,”* the company said in a statement. *“We are open to any audits and view recent accusations as an attempt at unjustified pressure.”*

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, FAVBET Group has provided over UAH 730 million in support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other defense units.

The company also remains actively engaged in corporate social responsibility initiatives. Since 2023, FAVBET has served as the general partner of a comprehensive national program aimed at introducing social services for individuals at risk of gambling addiction.

In 2024, the project led to the adoption of Ukraine’s official standard for the socio-psychological rehabilitation of individuals with gambling addiction and the launch of a specialized treatment center.

In 2025, FAVBET supported a new international exchange program for Ukrainian experts in responsible gaming and addiction prevention, initiated by the Responsible Gaming Center (RGC).

On July 1, the inaugural strategic session of the [AI Committee of the IT Ukraine Association](https://yan.ua/l/ITU-AI-Facebook) took place — a new expert platform bringing together industry leaders to foster the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine.
Among the participants were more than 15 representatives of leading companies, including AgriChain, KNESS, UCLOUD, GigaCloud, N-iX, Sigma Software, IT-Enterprise, UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group, and [FAVBET Tech](https://www.linkedin.com/company/favbet-tech/?originalSubdomain=ua), which also co-initiated the AI Committee.

During the session, participants worked on several key topics: Government relations and legal regulation — discussing legislative barriers and AI standards; Education and talent development — exploring ways to cultivate AI expertise in Ukraine; Another key focus was the integration of AI into priority areas of the IT industry — analyzing how artificial intelligence is transforming adjacent economic sectors, unlocking new business opportunities, and stimulating innovation.

The Association noted that such sessions will be held regularly and will involve even more companies. In addition to the AI Committee, IT Ukraine currently operates four other industry-focused committees: EdTech, FinTech, CyberTech, and AgriTech. Leading IT Companies Unite to Build Ukraine's AI Ecosystem: Key Outcomes of the First Strategic Session

In UNIT.City hosted another quarterly Intro Meeting organized by the Diia.City Union. The event brought together representatives of over 100 Diia.City resident companies, along with new members of the Union. Ukrainian tech company [FAVBET Tech](https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1HjG6Cv3Nz/?mibextid=wwXIfr) served as the event partner.

Intro Meeting is a recurring event by the Diia.City Union, where new companies are introduced and the opportunities of the Diia.City space for tech businesses are presented. During the event, participants also discussed the future of the IT industry in Ukraine, recent legislative changes, and shared their experiences of operating in today’s challenging environment, while also networking for future collaboration.
